Pledge your support.

I pledge to proactively fight against sexual violence and work toward a future where all communities are safe, inclusive, and free from harm. I commit to:

  • Learning more about and sharing with others information and resources on sexual assault and survivor support, and conversation tips for allies and survivors.

  • Speaking out against victim-blaming, harmful myths, and all forms of gender-based violence.

  • Creating safe spaces in my community by fostering respect, accountability, and allyship.

  • Supporting survivors by listening, believing, and advocating for justice.

  • Taking action — because safety is a shared responsibility, and together, we build a culture of prevention and protection.

On Denim Day NYC 2025, I wear jeans not just as a symbol of protest, but as a commitment to making #commUNITYsafety a reality. Together, we create change.

TAKE A STAND AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT & VIOLENCE

Denim Day NYC is a coalition of community organizations, elected officials, students, and volunteers united to promote awareness around the issue of sexual assault. Denim Day grew out of a case in which a rape conviction was overturned because the judge reasoned the victim’s tight jeans meant that she had to have helped her assailant remove them, implying consent. People were outraged all over the world and wearing jeans became an international symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes and myths surrounding sexual assault. Denim Day NYC started in 2010 with a collaborative of three agencies and has grown to more than 40 organizations uniting to promote awareness around the issue of sexual assault.
